Just a quick one to tell you what I'm up to, because I'm sure you're all wondering
For my Year12 Art Folio this year, as part of my final piece, I'm planning to do a lot of work with both Digital and Film Infrared Photography. Whilst the idea of IR photography has been around for some time, its introduction into digital photography has caused a bit of a fuss, with many claiming it can't be done, and many claiming it can.
I don't know if I can come to a conclusive answer on this debate, but I certainly am aiming to try and see what the difference is, and how either or both formats of IR Photography can be best used.
Please comment my pieces, because feedback (on what is to me, basically experimentation) will really help both my development in skill or use of IR, and will also be a huge help both to my folio notes, and to my attempted discoveries about Digital IR use.

I mostly shot at F. 11 or 13, sometimes 16. Make sure you have a lens with an IR focusing guide on it! This is invaluable lol.
Plants are great, and so are white buildings - anything else will just turn out very black. While this can sometimes be what you want, I found the best results came from light-coloured buildings that reflected the IR from the sun.
Apart from that, take as many roles as you can afford to, and good luck! Generally, only take one roll at a time so you can see what's working. Take notes of the lighting conditions and such for each photo. I used a lot of bracketing to get the best light for each photo, a list of the brackets for 1 photo (taken 4 times) would look like this:
Shrine through flame (Just a short title so you can recognise the photo later)
11. Bright sunlight | F13 1/60 infinity (focal point)
12. Bright sunlight | F13 1/30 inf.
13. Bright sunlight | F13 1/125 inf.
14. Bright sunlight | F16 1/60 inf.
Have a notepad and don't lose it. I couldn't believe how helpful it was to look back on the notes about what the light was like (sunny, moderate, overcast, etc) and to compare the results between sent of bracketing to other sets.
Sorry this was so long lol. Should have sent it in a note.
Good luck!!
